Modulation is how radio waves are modified to carry information. This can be sound, as in the case of radio broadcasts. It can also be digital data, such as for cellular data or images from satellites.
In this course we’ll build a series of receivers. These will capture radio waves, demodulate them to extract the data, then present it to us for our use.
We’ll start with simple techniques, then progress to more advanced concepts. No previous experience is necessary. Wherever new theory is required, relevant resources will be provided.
This series will make use of Software Defined Radio. This lets us build radio processing technology using tools on our computer, rather than needing to build new electrical devices for each project.
